The laboratory conducts cytological investigations from the area of lower genital tract, predominantly from uterine cervix. It is equipped with laboratory microscopes and the so-called research microscope Nikon Eclipse E 200 that is equipped with digital camera. The camera provides the possibility to archive obtained findings, or to carry out various processing work with the findings in a PC. The catchment area includes the former district Česká Lípa, the area of Šluknovský výběžek and area of the city of Jablonec. The laboratory has applied for inclusion into the list of laboratories participating in Screening of Uterine Cervix Tumors Program. Other areas of activity include assessment of inflammatory diseases of lower genital tract (MOP investigation).
